Re: [Cin] Improved Gradient Plugin
Okay. Really thanks for the info, very clear. But if the new Cin version do automatically, what does "Disable OpenGL masking" do, now? (perhaps no longer needed?) Il 09/06/2019 19.14, Phyllis Smith ha scritto: IgorB: I should have made that clear. Feathering (which uses shading) in masking uses OpenGL 4.3 version. An automatic probe in Cinelerra looks to see which GL version you have and even if the Video Driver is OpenGL, will switch to software for feathering if the driver is not high enough. Since the glxinfo reports less than 4.3, feathering will be done by the software. -- Cin mailing list Cin@lists.cinelerra-gg.org https://lists.cinelerra-gg.org/mailman/listinfo/cin

Let use know if your old test Project does NOT work correctly. It is easier for us to have a simple case to use to find and fix a bug. Your practical examples are good but sort of complicated for me to see what is going on. Re: [Cin] Improved Gradient Plugin
GG/Phyllis, I tested the new build ub16-20190608 with your simple test file. Wow! It also works perfectly with OpenGL Video Driver (setted in Preferences) like X11 Video Driver. And in Mask tool the "DisableOpenGL masking" is unchecked; if I enable or disable that option, the output doesn't change, it is always displayed correctly. What did you do? (If you need of a screencast to see what I see on the screen, let me know) Now, I try with my old test Project. Thanks! Il 08/06/2019 22.04, Phyllis Smith ha scritto: IgorB: Yeah! we found a bug now. Re: [Cin] Improved Gradient Plugin
Ooh thanks! It is the OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30 that is of concern And I thought it was "core profile shading language version string = 3.3". I was wrong. GG wants to know if when you run the same way but click on the "Disable OpenGL masking" checkbox, does it work correctly then? Unfortunately it doesn't work. I have done a quickly screencast where you can see with: - X11 Video Driver (okay); - OpenGL and Disable OpenGL checkbox= disable; - OpenGL and Disable OpenGL checkbox= enable; https://streamable.com/j9lqa Thanks. IgorBeg PS: I love the Mask tool with the new Radio buttons and the numbers that change the color if there is an active mask. Now I don't have to guess or check all the masks if there are masks or less. Really useful. Thanks! -- Cin mailing list Cin@lists.cinelerra-gg.org https://lists.cinelerra-gg.org/mailman/listinfo/cin
Re: [Cin] Improved Gradient Plugin
IgorB: thanks for that. It is the OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30 that is of concern (not the "core profile shading language version string". GG wants to know if when you run the same way but click on the "Disable OpenGL masking" checkbox, does it work correctly then? That would help to narrow down if it is really the version number causing the problem. At the same time, GG is building an older laptop here to see if he can generate the same problem. gg/Phyllis "Charlie" ( hehehe ;-p ) says: > server glx version string: 1.4 > client glx version string: 1.4 > GLX version: 1.4 > Max core profile version: 3.3 > Max compat profile version: 3.0 > Max GLES1 profile version: 1.1 > Max GLES[23] profile version: 3.0 > OpenGL core profile version string: 3.3 (Core Profile) Mesa 11.2.0 > OpenGL core profile shading language version string: 3.30 > OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 11.2.0 > *OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30* > OpenGL ES profile version string: OpenGL ES 3.0 Mesa 11.2.0 > OpenGL ES profile shading language version string: OpenGL ES GLSL ES 3.00 > -- Cin mailing list Cin@lists.cinelerra-gg.org https://lists.cinelerra-gg.org/mailman/listinfo/cin

Thanks Phyllis! When you have time and if this exists on "Charlie", execute the command at the prompt: glxinfo | grep version that will let us know which version of OpenGL you are running and we can see if it matches expectations. "Charlie" ( hehehe ;-p ) says: server glx version string: 1.4 client glx version string: 1.4 GLX version: 1.4 Max core profile version: 3.3 Max compat profile version: 3.0 Max GLES1 profile version: 1.1 Max GLES[23] profile version: 3.0 OpenGL core profile version string: 3.3 (Core Profile) Mesa 11.2.0 OpenGL core profile shading language version string: 3.30 OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 11.2.0 OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30 OpenGL ES profile version string: OpenGL ES 3.0 Mesa 11.2.0 OpenGL ES profile shading language version string: OpenGL ES GLSL ES 3.00 Mmh, sorry for the disturb. I had read that Cinelerra-GG has been updated to 4.3. GG read the dump file but found "no smoking gun" - sometimes insufficient information is dumped but if it is a real bug, you can count on it crashing again. Okay. Thanks! I like your sentence: "no smoking gun". It remember to me a kind of detective story: here we say "noir". About "the Color window opened with “Inner color” or “Outer color” has not the OK and Cancel buttons on the bottom corners" and "For consistency sake, if you think OK and Cancel buttons should be added, put this in MantisBT" Okay, thanks. Re: [Cin] Improved Gradient Plugin
GG/Phyllis thanks for the ub16 build. Does Gradient plugin works with the masks (Mask tool) when OpenGL is enabled? If X11-OpenGL Video Driver (in Preferences> Playback_A> VideoOut) is selected and you are using the masks, they are not showed (but the plugin works). More, doing some tests a crash with dump is occurred. Maybe (surely) it do not depend by Gradient plugin. I added a compressed dump file. The Color window opened with “Inner color” or “Outer color” has not the OK and Cancel buttons on the bottom corners. Other plugins like Titler and Sketcher have it. May be that the window’s height is too little? Thanks.
