Hello everyone,
I just question that someone may lend their insight or opinion. I have

Well, we are now able to reproduce the errors. Everytime we write mem, we
can cause those input errors to occur. They are only occuring on the POS

We are running 12.2(31)SB9.

I've seen some evidence of a 6509-V-E waiting in the wings. Our SE
wasn't too helpful last time we checked (admittedly several months
ago.)
As far as I can tell the 6509-V-E is a 7609-S with a new paint job, so
you wouldn't think it would take this long to release unless there are

That looks like a bug with POS in the 12.2 code. NSE just means that the
payload has moved in the sonet frame as per design.

So in the case of my border router it's likely that we simply got hit
with a flood of packets (small scale attack perhaps?) and the G1 just
couldn't handle it. This seems likely since I saw the overruns on both
the GigE int to the upstream provider and both GigE ints back to the
core of our
Would a NPE-G2 processor be able to handle the microbursts or it a

It would be able to handle a higher burst.
I've not tested it to see if it can handle a linerate microburst
on a GE port though.

Does anyone know where the NEB 6509 is in its lifecycle?
Rumor has it that the 6509-NEB E version being release real soon (or
already has). Contact your Cisco SE or AM for more information.
I've also heard of third-party companies making air flow redirectors
to help direct the 6500's
Does anyone know where the NEB 6509 is in its lifecycle? Is there a -E
model coming out in the future? Is this a viable way to go just to get
front to rear airflow? I've been told about the cabinets designed to
route air to the front and rear for the normal side discharge chassis
but I

I imagine some of you are using the Internap FCP product. How do you find
it? I've just spoken with their sales and technical staff - got a customer
evaluating it - I wanted to hear real world stories. My guys have a couple

I just wanted a second opinion, maybe a 3rd or 4th :) Is it safe to pull a
NM-1FE-TX out of a running 3660? If I am reading correctly the cisco site
says yes, but it would be nice to hear someone say they have done it before.

I found that and another document after I found out that it's called OIR and
not just Hot Swap. Heh. I can verify that the 3660 does not pitch a fit
when you pull a NM-1FE-TX out of it.

I could be wrong but I don't think any NM modules are hot-swappable.
Ditto for *(V|W)ICs. I could be wrong though.
The 3660 supports OIR for the NM, but not the 3620/3640:

Does anyone have a sample DS3 router config they can share for a 38xx router?
It would be even greater if it had the basic hardend ACL with it. I haven't
installed a DS3 connection in aobut three years but I used to have a basic
hardened ACL template I used with it. Any help is highly
Have you put one back in it though? ;) I've gotten burnen on them before
where the whole router just locks up YMMV

No. I needed a 100Mb card for another router and that one was never used.
Heh I put a label on the blank plate that says to reboot the router before
inserting a card in that slot just in case I forget about that a year from
now. :)
