Hi all,
We're trying to migrate some broadband users to an ASR1002, but seem to be
having some problems relating to scalability for PPPoVPDN.
The session setup rate seems to be very poor - our configuration is somewhat
complex, but we still found that the same numbers worked OK on other ASR1K

if all you want is bytes in/out, maybe SNMP would be easier for this

Hi list,
I'm trying, perhaps in vain, to get some Netflow data on a non-IP interface on
an ASR1K - in this case, a PPPoE server interface like:
interface Port-channel1.20
encapsulation dot1Q 20
pppoe enable group
!
I tried defining a custom record that only matches & collects very basic
You can stick a 1x10G SPA in the 1001-X to bring it up to 3x 10G interfaces.
There are some caveats, though: the platform's throughput as licensed is only
up to 20G; and the SPA uses XFP, as opposed to SFP+ in the built-in 10G ports.

Hi there,
We're currently evaluating ASR1001-X with XE 3.16.00S / 15.5(3)S running BRAS
role "on a stick" using 2x10G in an LACP etherchannel.
We've noticed that on dot1q subinterfaces on the bundle, while input counters
appear to function normally, output counters massively under-read (not
Hey all,
We recently acquired a couple of second-hand SPA-5X1GE-V2 to use in an ASR1001,
but I'm having some trouble getting them to work.
When I insert the card into the router, I get the following message:
%SPA_OIR-3-UNSUPPORTED: The SPA-5X1GE (0x44E) in subslot 0/1 is not supported

Has anyone else got SPA-5X1GE-V2 functioning on the
ASR1001 specifically? Anyone seen this issue before?
Have I received bad hardware?
I'd also be interested in learning about this, as I've
ditched my ASR1001 purchases
Hi,
ASR1001 can hold 1,000,000 routes in the FIB if you have 8GB memory. See
table 4:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps9343/data_sheet_c78-441072.html
We have an 8GB unit taking two full feeds and a couple of IXes (another

I think its better to go for 1002-x instead of 1001 as we have to take IPv6
route table growth in calculation as well. any comments on licensing.
