IMO, FreeFTPd is one of those things that sounds great ... until you try it. My
advice, take 20 minutes and spin up a Linux distribution with OpenSSH.

What are others using for there UC backup server Application for SFTP and
FTP?
I've started a pilot with FreeFTPd but it keeps crashing and then I have to
restart it and run my backups again.
What have others had good success using?
Thanks

Hi
Im using CoreFTP Mini SFTP-server to backup our UCM. It works but docent scale
well if you want to back up more than one application.
Im also using the FreeFTP, I was having issues with it at first but it seemed
to be a permissions issue on the actual server. Still think its bit flakey.
could you just use a translation pattern. 9130XXX translates to
130xxx.

I sure could, but we are going to have over 1000 NPA-NXX combinations after
everything is deployed. I was looking for a way to not have a ton of
translations going on.

I think this is a great use for the alternate enterprise number and it won’t
cause any overhead with call processing.

I’ve been using Unified FX for quite some time now. The ability to see/manage

different use case).
It makes certain tasks very easy (like putting wallpapers on phones). You can

Okay, I can’t resit this one ;)
I’m sure opinions will vary based on personal taste etc., but one key point,
only PhoneView (http://www.unifiedfx.com) is Cisco Compatible (tested with

themselves including the following:
Variphy (variphy.com), and it comes with a lot of other very handy tools.

Filezilla is the FTP/ SFTP server I've been rolling with for awhile.

I don't think this is technically SFTP as we know it in the Cisco world.
This is FTP-SSL/TLS. I have not tested it, but I don't think we can use it
to backup our UC apps.

It is worth noting that SFTP and FTPS are completely different protocols.
FTPS is FTP with a control channel and opens new connections for the data
transfer. As it uses SSL, it requires a certificate.
SFTP is an extension of SSH, so it usually uses only the SSH port for both data
and control.
