Re: [cisco-voip] sip trunk to asterisk
Hi Sam, Do you need to transcode on the Cisco? (i.e. aren’t both endpoints supporting the same set of codecs?) You need to ensure, that if you use a codec list on one call-leg (dial-peer) you support the same on the other call-leg (or outbound dial-peer) as well. Trying transparent codec on dial-peers may also work. For transcoding you’ll need DSCP resources and some configuration: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/voice/cube/configuration/cube-book/transcoding.html Cheers, Zoltan Kelemen Emerson From: cisco-voip [mailto:cisco-voip-boun...@puck.nether.net] On Behalf Of s m Sent: 02 April 2015 12:08 To: cisco-voip@puck.nether.net Subject: [cisco-voip] sip trunk to asterisk hello everybody, i want to configure a sip trunk between a cisco router and my system which has asterisk. this is my scenario: Freepbx-my system-cisco-routerFreepbx my system acts like a router. in cisco, if i set just one codec in dial-peers, every thing is ok and i can make a call. but if i set different codecs in a voice class codec and assign it to dial-peers, i can make call but call is terminated. i trace all debug messages in cisco and think it is happened when receiving call has a codec which differs with first codec priority in cisco router because my cisco router can not transcode these codecs to each other. am i right or misunderstand?? if it is true, how can i enable transcoding on my cisco router? i have a 2800 router. any comments ot hints are really appreciated. [cisco-voip] Connected line presentation
Hi, We have a cluster with 4 digit extensions on the DNs, and AD with +E.164 numbers. Since we're starting rolling out (testing phase) CUCM integration to Jabber (WebEx Messenger Cloud for IMPresence, SSO, AD synced) we now have some cosmetic issues with the call/chat integration: On intra-cluster calls when a Jabber client is called, I can globalize the calling number using per device (or per DP) calling number transformations, +E.164 number shows, caller is correctly identified as the AD user. However, when I call someone on the cluster, the call will not merge with the chat window as Jabber only sees the 4 digit extension (and name) as the connected party, even if I initiated the call as a click-to-dial E.164 call from Jabber (a translation pattern would transform +E164 numbers to local 4 digit extensions) Is there any way short of moving to a full +E.164 dial plan to have the connected numbers show up as +E.164 on the Jabber clients? Re: [cisco-voip] CCNA/CCNP Collaboration certs
They are just retiring, not actually *invalidating* CCNP Voice, right? I mean all of our CCNP Voice certificates won't go up in a puff of smoke once CCNP Collab comes out. Only that no new CCNP Voice certs would be awarded after a yet to be announced date (or has it been announced already? Anyway) Since I've just got mine, I don't think I'll be in any rush to update to Collaboration, especially not until at least some valuable training materials are out . From my experience, I wouldn't rely on classroom training alone. So far none of the official cisco training classes I've attended covered *all* of the exam material. And there's barely a synopsis for CIPTV2 out so far. Really? Only one test's worth of info is what changes between Voice and Collaboration? If you are going to retire and invalidate a credential and move to another tract altogether, then it should be a top-down revamp, not just one test of a few new questions about video. This feels like it is nothing more than re branding/marketing; and I shouldn't have to pay for that. Re: [cisco-voip] Incoming CLI Unknown but shows up at bottom of display
Hi Damian, A SIP debug on your CUBE can clarify which fields you are getting and then you could use voice class sip-profile to modify some sip headers on your CUBE to fix it. This assuming you have a CUBE controlled by you between the CUCM cluster and the provider. Lacking that you could pull the SIP traces from the CUCM cluster and have your provider send the appropriate fields. Recently transferred PSTN services to a SIP carrier, so incoming calls are now coming through a SIP trunk from an SBC. Incoming calls are showing up as Unknown Number but at the bottom of the display, just above the softkeys it shows the correct CLI. Any ideas?
