Currently on-access scanning in clamd is very buggy and should not be
used but it's in my TODO to fix it before 0.80.
So I'll better wait until 0.80 is out. If this doesn't help I'll follow OSP's
advise even though I don't really like the idea of compiling dazuko.

Ah... Uhh.. Wow... Wouldn't that cause a HUGE amount of overhead? Esp =
on a server?
You can restrict the on-access scans to selected partitons or directories.
I want to use it on a desktop with Windows installed on a second partition as
well. So I'll restrict it to the partitions to
I hope that's not off-topic. The digest comes as HTML-mail. I think it would
be quite helpful if the topic's list at the top of the messages would include
links to the messages. Sometimes it's quite cumbersome to scroll through all
the stuff, if you're just interested in a specific thread
I had the same problem. I solved it uninstalling the rpm package and
installing and compilling the source code.
Did you compile and install the dazuko source code? Doesn't that mean one has
to compile the whole kernel?

Can someone explain the on-access scanning bit to me? I'm not sure I =
understand what dazuko is and how to use it... Off-list is fine, =
although I'm sure others may have questions too... :)
On-access scanning means that files are being scanned each time you touch
them, i.e. perform copy,
Did you start it as root? Is the User directive commented out in
clamav.conf?
I started clamd in a shell as root. clamav.conf reads as follows:
...
# Run as selected user (clamd must be started by root).
# By default it doesn't drop privileges.
#User clamav
...
I'm not sure if this is the
A couple of months I already described this problem here but nobody could
help. Recently I did upgrade from SuSE 9.0 to 9.1 hoping this problem would be
solved too. Unfortunately it wasn't.

I wanna use clamd (Clamuko) to survey all my file activities as
opening, saving etc. To do this one has to register it with Dazuko, a
kernel module. But this doesn't work properly. I always get an error
message saying that Clamuko couldn't regpster with Dazuko.
Is this a bug in clamav
