I gave up after trying with Firefox and Chrome on Linux Mint desktop. I also 
tried with a Windows VM but the camera was not connecting. I have done numerous 
video conferences with Skype and Zoom on my Linux desktop so I suspect the 
problem is with Jitsi web client. I have had better videoconferencing luck with 
desktop clients than web clients in general so this is not a big surprise. 

Nice seeing a couple of you again even if I had no audio.

I have a Jitsi instance running in Cybera.  Since most of us are Alberta
citizens, there are free cloud resources available (8 vCPUs, 8 GB of RAM,
and 1 TB of total storage, 1 public IPv4).  I am not affiliated with them
at all, other than as a user.

jitsi worked fine, had no installation process, and only required a 
browser, granted I fired it up on Firefox, it just worked. Honestly i 
will try giving jami a try, but let's get the conferences going with 
jitsi, and we can discuss other methods there if we want.


Jitsi is super easy, click on the link, allow it to use you camera and 
microphone, and join the conference. that's it. https://meet.jit.si/clug


Let's set the time and the date. weekend is coming up.
