Maria,
I can't help you a whole lot on this subject. But I know there are MANY in
this group who have changed TKIs
often. My husband only went from Gleevec to Sprycel and has been fortunate to
still be on that drug for 4 years now, and successfully, I might add.

Thanks Marcie for the encouragement. I am so hoping your acupuncture, and the
usage of pure castor oil, (I used to do hot packs with them, soaking a white
gauze or white t-shirt material in castor oil, placing it on the site, covering
with saran wrap, then a heating pad for 45 minutes, one time
Hi Susan,
Reading your story, even though I already know it, is just awe inspiring! You
truly are a walking miracle. May God continue to bless you for many, many years
to come.

Hi Maria,
Yes, I am now on bosutinib/bosulif. I did read your post about switching, and
I kind of hope your docs decide to do it! I've heard so many stories on this
site about problems with sprycel. I took sprycel myself for fifteen days. I
never went into my background with you, since you
Hi Chris,
We all miss your mother. She was always thinking about and praying for us.
Anyway, I just wanted to know how your doing. I hope that you are well
and doing OK.

Hi Jeanie:
It has taken me 5 years on Gleevec to reach not detected. First was on my 5
year anniversary of diagnosis in March and then again following my last BCR-ABL
in June. Prior to those two tests, my levels were only trace amounts. We
discussed many times switching meds but I felt strongly
Yes, I am still in grief over Millie and miss her so much. Right before I
went on vacation she wrote me wonderful note; I will see if I can find it
and share with you.
Millie was always telling me what she was cooking for that day because she
knew I was very much interested in her recipes an
Hi Greenie, internet has been down for a few days; just got it back up.
I hope you are better now. I am good; 76 this year and still up and
running daily hehe. Not running just walking. I like to walk early in the
morning while it's cool.
I have white coat blood pressure and always have. M
I had my first BMA in my oncs office without any meds; just the nurse
holding my hand. It was awful to say the least. I had just met this onc and

Hi Maria,
I take my dose once daily in the morning with breakfast. I am considering
asking my onc if I can go off of it soon to see how my body will react.
My platelets and wbc go up when I try to reduce it, but I am going to try
once more.
I had the same symptoms as you when I was first dx i
Hi Maria, I have been on Gleevec, Tasigna and now Sprycel. The Sprycel
has been the best for me with little side effects and in remission.
Someone here is on Bosulif I believe.
Blessings,

Hi Marcie,
I think I told you this but I'll repeat it.
When I was going to my first onc he told me he had a patient that had so
much bone pain, he could barely stand it.
He was wondering why I didn't; but I just don't know why. I had a lot of
other terrible side effects; boils, itches, nausea,
Hi SusieQ,
I didn't realize that you and I were dx the some month and year and started
Gleevec the same month and year.
Are you still on Gleevec?
It quit working for me in 2009.
Blessing,

Hi Maria,
It would be difficult for me to answer your question about switching
from Sprycel to Bosulif because I was never on any TKI's because I had
a bone marrow transplant.
However my question is why does your doctor want to switch you from
Sprycel to Bosulif if your doing so well now? I think
Hi Marty and all, My internet has been down and I missed you all.
Marty, that is a beautiful story and I love you too. How wonderful to be
uplifted by someone in your darkest hour.
I am good and hope everyone is doing good also.
I remember when I was in the hospital in 2009 a nurse came in and a
Hi Maria:
Susan Zimmerman on this site is now on bosulif, I think. She is a sweetheart
and I'm sure when she sees your post she will respond. Wish I could be of more
help but I've only been on Gleevec.
Hugs,
Marcie
