Hi russ, Yea I did read about standard horizon during my research on chartplotters ann there was a lot of negativity in regard to their customer service. IIRC, the general consensus was, standard horizon had pretty good stuff but lacked in support. Sorry to hear of your trouble with them.

I think the slagging of Raymarine pilots is unwarranted. I've got a Raymarine Linear Drive (the big one) and X30 corepack on Bojangles and it works perfectly. We just did 410 miles from Grenada to BVI - with moderate quartering seas - and the pilot drove the whole way with ZERO cross track

I developed a crack in one of my rain barrels - tried Gflex and it didn't stick. Ended up with some weather-stripping and a piece of aluminum bolted through the barrel. Anyone know what material a 30-1 forward tank is made of? Mine has a crack in the seam at the lowest part of the tank.

Chris, Marine Traffic depends on volunteers to relay data. They say there can be a lag of up to one hour. While it was pretty accurate on the Chesapeake last summer when I played with it and great for keeping track of a ship, I would not want to rely on it for navigation. Joel 35/3 Annapolis

Chesapeake Bay gives you six seconds for the furler. The difference in the spin and non-spin ratings are for spinnakers which are out of specifications - longer pole than the J measurements or a masthead chute where the stock boat has a fractional or other items like that. If you look at
