FYI, the old windows that I replaced on my 42 fit in the cabin house cavities almost perfectly. As a result, gel coat around the cavities was (and still is) chipped in several places. I assume that the chipping was caused by the plexi expanding more than the surrounding cavity on hot days.

I set my windows in the evening. It was mostly cloudy (no direct sunlight). It was dry, and the temp was in the 70s. It rained the next day, but the sealant had already set by then. I let the boat sit for two or three days before using it. This procedure worked for me. From: Morgan Ellis

I did mine this spring as well using VHB tape and Dow Corning sealant, both of which appear to be adhering fine. I used acetone as the final prep wipe for the gel coat, and an alcohol/water solution as the final prep wipe for the acrylic. I don’t know about 3M building caulk that you used, so

In Canada, if you wish to legally use your VHF in the USA and other countries you need to obtain a radio license for the radio, which IC will then grant you a call sign, the once you have a radio license in Canada you are supposed to use this call sign in all VHF transmissions.
