I paid a fiberglass shop to rebuild mine. ~$5k. About 4 years later it
appears that the rudder is once again wet - FLIR and moisture meter during
survey. Like you my biggest concern was corrosion on the inner metal
components - none was found. The rudder was rebuilt and encapsulated the
metal
I'm sure more experts will chime in here, but my understanding is that
water ingress is extremely common, our survey indicated the same, and a
previous survey also had a wet rudder.
