As a rigger I would go with Charlie Nelson’s recommendation. To do a thought
inspection of rod rigging it needs to be completely disassembles and the cold
head looked at closely and possible NDT’d to ensure there are no cracks. At
almost 20 years old you most likely need to replace it.
I highly recommend Osprey! They've done work on my last two boats. Not
cheap, but top quality work!
Can't help on the rod. When I needed help with my Edson steering, Edson
recommended M Yachts, but I've never used their rigging services.

Depending on your DIY skills and the local rigger fees, etc. you might consider

A local rigger removed and shipped my original rod rigging to BSI or Rigging

The Rigging Company did a complete inspection/re-heading/replacement of the rod
rigging on my 34+ last year, and I was satisfied with their work and pricing.
They also replaced the life lines several years ago and did a good job with
that.
