Suggest taking a piece of the material you plan on using for the window and
putting it over the panel to see the effect. There are many different kinds of
plastic and their effect on light transmission can vary. A practical test is
the best way to go methinks.

Good to know. I found Tilex sprayed on a sponge works very well to remove black
spots. Lightly spray area afterwards w Tilex and let dry to protect for long
lerm.

FWIW, Our boat has one keel bolt washer w a big lug welded to it. It is under
the nut on the foremost bolt under the mast step and a stranded wire connects
the mast to this washer, so the keel is the ground for the mast.

I like the boat on land to tighten the keel bolts/nuts. You are using the
force, gravity to help compress boat and keel together that way. In the water,
the keel weight is hanging on the bolts and gravity is working against you. The
builder put the keel on, on land.

extra holes in the deck where added. We have drilled and

frames and it works perfect for that. Do remember it is like water and cannot
plug a big leak.

lot of sense. I hadn't heard of that before. Easy-Off is an alkaline,
so vinegar would neutralize any residual stuff.

I used it also this year to temporarily fix a leak on a chainplate, also on my
hatch , it was leaking from a crack around a screw that fix the acrylic. No
leaks so far ( and it poured hard a few times ).
A good fix for 1-2 seasons..

So then back to the original question. Could these B&G H1000 era
transducers be effectively connected to newer Raymarine displays? All
of the data seems good on the B&G. The wiring and the boxes in behind
the bulkheads look almost new. The transducers are obviously working.

the depth, speed and wind transducers need to be connected to a display head

The easiest thing would be to find out the nature of the signal is out of
the computers / transducers. If it's NMEA 0183 compatible then you just
get a NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 converter (A Google search will easily get
that) If not find out if there is a way to get the signal converted
