I put one of these on the mast to protect the ML2 steaming/deck light when I
rewired the mast on my 38 11 or 12 years ago. Never had a problem.
I thought that being under the spreaders and between the mast and shrouds was
protection enough for the ML1 spreader lights. Wrong! So I bought two
