I am with Josh on this one. I find that the sun does a great job of keeping my
decks white. I keep some Scrubbing Bubbles on board, bur rarely use it. Given
time, the sun will bleach most stains, shoe marks, etc. I use the cleaner for
stuff that accumulates in the spring from trees and in

I have been very successful with a scrub brush and garden hose nozzle. We run
public sailing charters so keeping the boat clean is a pretty high priority.

I used Dawn (green) this week simply because the stuff our club buys has
run out (they buy a 45g drum for $800, it is enviro safe and *very*
effective and concentrated, like one tsp in a bucket is plenty). The Dawn
seemed to work fairly well, but definitely not as concentrated as the good
stuff.
Hi David,
How about your boat's deck self-bleaching / cleaning every time it rains?
That's pretty much where mine is these days. I give it a bleach / Woody's
wax in the spring and another one in the fall. Beyond that I rinse the
deck once a month or two and clean the black streaks every month
Dawn dish detergent (blue), medium-bristle brush. Works great.

I use a small electric, low pressure washer, set on med fan. 99% come up. A
white cleaning pad and small scrub brush for stubborn areas. Very seldom do I
use a cleaner. I do this 4 times a year. Brush and hose routinely.
Cleaner wax twice a year on deck and hull.

For that black mold/midew, Scrubbing Bubbles Foaming Bleach (repeat:

Powdered laundry detergent. Easy to apply evenly so long as it is not too
windy. Be careful, it makes the deck an ice rink. Great for Kiwigrip.
