Last night I posted that I had seen 12 Black Phoebes in Eastern Fremont
County. Well, as I posted, I saw 2 sets of fledglings, each set being fed
by a parent (total 8 birds), a single Black Phoebe in juvenal plumage (1
bird), and a nest with at least 2 nestlings being attended by both parents
Nick Komar and I photographed an adult Glossy Ibis late yesterday evening on
County Road 48 at Lower Latham Reservoir (Weld County). The blue line above the

This morning 16 birders looked for the Black Vulture from 7:30 a.m. until
11:30. The bird was seen by 9 birders at about 11:20 a.m. from the Homestead
parking area.

Cobirds:
The Walks With Nature group went out to Adams and Denver
County today (July 4th) and saw at least 42 burrowing owls. Both
adults and juveniles were seen. Main concentrations were along
Picadilly Road south of road 128; Along road 114 north of DIA; And
off several sides
At 10 this morning, a group of us watched a pair of nesting Williamson's
sapsuckers feed their 2+ young (we saw two, but there may be more) at
Mueller State Park. The nest is in a large aspen tree on the western edge
of a meadow at the northwest corner of trail 32.
