Today I watched a juvenile Peregrine Falcon for more 15 minutes as it flew
around trying to catch a bird for dinner and as it perched twice in a
cottonwood about 150 feet away. I was able to get some pretty good pics
that show field marks well. I believe it had field marks consistent with a

Hi Everyone--
Today 8/9, I drove over to the Brainard Lakes area and hiked the Mount
Audubon trail all the way to the summit and back, a total of about 8 miles.
There were lots of baby birds around: 2 baby Pine Grosbeaks just past the
entrance station this morning, baby Ruby-crowned and Golden-cr

This makes me wonder if the area was had experienced a recent burn or is it
a beetle kill area?
