My girlfriend and I headed up to Allenspark this morning at around 9
am. Fawn Brook was pretty slow but we did both get our life Northern
Shrike on the telephone wire in front of the low blue house at the
corner of Ski Road and CO 7 and a Red-Breasted Nuthatch.
We headed back to Boulder along the
Scott and I have enjoyed the Snowy Owl this week.

I noticed a couple of things on the images. I love the deep downbeat
when this bird takes off. I also think the tail looks like a
hummingbird's tail. :)

house in Loveland at 8:00 AM, picking my sister up 2 miles off I-25
in Broomfield.

the west side of McKissick Road just south of Scott Rd W. at 9:10 am
today, Thursday. Several birders and I were standing on McKissick

Just before noon today, on my second try, I saw the Red-shouldered
Hawk in Windsor. It was behaving as previously described, moving
from tree to tree about every 1-2 minutes, in the same location as
previously described, all around the meadow with the bench at Kodak
State Wildlife
Mary Keithler, Dave Hill, Lois Levinson, and Harriet Stratton report seeing the

I took a friend out to see the snowy owl late yesterday afternoon (around 4:30
p.m.) and found him perched on the same barn as mentioned by Paula Hansley in
an earlier post. At the time,we were the only ones out there until a couple
from Denver pulled up.
