Birders, I received several comments from birders about the possibility that Tammy heard a woodcock rather than a nighthawk and perhaps at dusk if I went to where she heard the bird I may hear it if it was a woodcock. We did go back but didn't hear anything similar. I may try again in the mornin

The bird was seen at 4700 Holly, LL Johnson Dist Co. Birders are welcome to visit but afterhours the security system motion-detectors will respond to anyone who might approach the fence. If you keep to the curb, all should be fine. The system is armed typically by 5pm each night and all weekend.
