Bonny Lake, Wagon Wheel campground. A Vermilion Flycatcher was feeding at a small inlet at the buttom of the boat ramp.
Red-bellied Woodpecker at end of West Beach road from campground.

Good trip to Wray to see Greater Prairie Chickens with DOW. Clear, very cold
morning with 24 Prairie Chickens on the lek. Females walked through and the
dancing
ramped up.

Rocky Ford second SWA parking lot on south side of 266 heading east. Moving
from tall trees on 266 a Harlan's Hawk was chased from tree to tree by smaller
birds.

Hey, I had some migrants today! Despite the strong northerly gusts against the
foothills here, there was more movement today than I've been seeing.
Non-raptor highlights - 4 different flocks of W Bluebirds zoomed by; an FOS
Audubon's-YR Warbler zoomed by; and the noisy dozen W

I spent three hours bopping around e. Boulder and a bit of w. Weld County today.
The highlight was 4 GREAT EGRETS in a GB Heron rookery on County Rd 7 just n of
Hwy 119 (w. of I-25). If you go north on 7, the rookery is to your left about
1/4 to 1/2 mile off just before road

I visited Ferril Lake in City Park this afternoon to see who was nesting on
the island. I didn't have binoculars with me, but was able to see several
double-crested cormorants on nests and two adult black-crowned night
herons. These were the FOY for me. There may have been nesting

I went out to do my first burrowing owl transect this morning (since y'all
are seeing them further south), but found none yet on the acreage assigned
to me. I did observe this amusing incident:

Ornithologists group to search for spring birds at the south end of
I-25 in Trinidad, Colorado. Mark is the top active birder of Las
