Yesterday (5/29) Greg Levandoski and I birded around sharp point drive
and the ELC in the am. We were not very fortunate in finding rare
warblers but did find the motherload of Flycatchers. They were
ubiquitous with Western Wood-Pewee being the most common species.

Hello, Birders.
Lots of stuff moving over Greenlee Preserve, Lafayette, Boulder County, in the

Hi birders,
I was just on a bike ride along N. 61st. Street, before it turns over St.

when the Woodpecker flew over the road and landed in the large cottonwood on

shortly before it turns Northeast. In among the Bank Swallow colony
were a number of Cliff Swallows (took pictures or I'd have doubted it
myself).

The Yellow-billed Cuckoo (very tame) and the Baltimore Oriole were both at
the banding area of Chico Basin Ranch today at around 4:00 PM. I didn't see
any uncommon warblers. On my way out I stopped to escort a large bull snake
off of the road. It was a very unhappy snake.

The past few days, an Ash-throated Flycatcher has been checking out
nest boxes near our house, just west of the South Bay area of
Horsetooth Reservoir. A pair has nested nearby the past few years,
so we'll watch to see if a mate shows up and they nest here again.

Greetings,
It seems as if most of the bird that were dumped by Saturday night's rain
departed Sunday night.

Hi all:
I returned to Colorado today to be met by 40-45 mph winds (gusts to 55 mph),
though it was ONLY 95F today (unlike yesterday's 104F at Elkhart, KS). Gee,
thanks.
I was block-busting for the COBBA II, doing three blocks by the Cimarron River

Hello to all,
Crow Valley Campground proved to be some of the best birding for one
spot that I've had in a long long while on Saturday through to Sunday
morning. I had 80 species of birds which I thought was spectacular
for such a little oasis on the plains... After reading the posts I
see that
Nice find on the Red-shouldered Hawk Dave! You didn't miss anything
at Crow Valley that you haven't seen before I'm sure. It was a nice
little getaway for me. My days away from fiance and daughter are few
and far between though. I wish the location would have been a little
more exotic but I
This weekend we were finally able to make it over to our cabin in Forbes
Park...always a welcome treat...no phone, computer or television...so despite
high winds we were able to get in some quality birding time.
Highlights included:
A pair of Pine Grosbeaks
Cassin's Finch
A lone Red Crossbill
