Had an Eastern Phoebe by the Big Thompson River hawking insects this morning at 8 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. This is the earliest one around here for me.

The Snowy Owl at John Martin Reservoir was much more cooperative today.
I saw it numerous times while working between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. With
better looks, I think it's an immature female. Today, it liked sitting
atop rocky outcrops on the north side of the lake about 1 1/2 miles west
I'm reporting this Horned Grebe simply because of the fact that Cottonwood
Marsh had 2 Horned Grebes that hung out for at least a week just a few weeks
ago, and now here's another. This is a very unusual siting for Walden Ponds.
Cottonwood Marsh has had a markedly different composition of
