COBirders,
Fountain Creek Nature Center hosted what I believe was the 21st Annual Fall
Bird Count in Fountain Creek Regional Park this morning. Twenty-five
birder enthusiasts split into five teams and scoured the park between 7:30

Today at 12:30 pm, Diana King and I found the previously reported Buff-breasted
Sandpiper on the north shore of Jackson Reservoir, Jackson Lake SWA. It was at
the same location described by Alan Bell, namely, foraging among killdeer on
the north shore of Jackson Lake. It was just south of the
Hi COBirders,
Good numbers again at the RMBO banding station at Chico Basin Ranch El Paso Co,
fee area). Full report to follow.
We had to close nets early for volume control as we continue to see a lot of
birds early in the day. Today, again, the large number of Wilson's Warblers
continue.
I was dumbfounded today to witness a flock of 10 to 12 Pinyon Jays at 11300
feet near Montgomery Pass (above Cameron Pass) in Larimer County. In my 20
years hiking in the Medicine Bow range in Larmier County I have never seen
Pinyon Jays. This flock came in out of no where about 2 pm, landed

Klaver and Judy Wright, were in three teams for a record

Seems that there was a regional pulse of Pinyon Jay migration today as a
flock of 28 birds flew over Walden/Sawhill Ponds. Other notables includes a
Chestnut-collared Longspur (flyover noted by its flight calls), and an
American Bittern. Several of Ted's Warbling Vireos were around too.

Yes, and one of them was singing and audio-recorded yesterday, Friday,
Sept. 7th. It was an Eastern, near the southwest corner of Cottonwood
Marsh. Makes sense: Eastern Warbling-Vireos are supposed to stick around on
the breeding grounds to molt, whereas Westerns are supposed to bail and
molt
Beautiful weather all day! Out of 101 species seen the notables were:

Also one Adult and one juvenile Golden Eagle, sitting on power poles, in
the same area.
Came up empty on the Clay-colored sparrow, though we did find
