Hi all, Sorry for this late post.Yesterday,12/24 I checked Marston Reservoir.
It was 75% frozen. I did find the 2, first winter White-winged Scoters, 1,
Long-tailed Duck,and 1 ad. basic Lesser Black-backed Gull along with at least
6, Herring Gulls and many Ring-billed Gulls. There were 3 Gre

Today, Cathy Sheeter and I started out at Red Rocks, with huge numbers of birds
coming into seed Cathy spread out. I don't know what brand or mix she bought,
but the birds nearly totally ignored what was already on the ground.

Hi all.Happy holidays.
We completed our annual Christmas Bird Count at the Monte Vista NWR on Dec 15th
and had 15 persons participate. We divided into four teams and took quantrants.
The count was held a day after a 6 inch snowfall, and some folks could not

We got the feeders out this morning and immediately had the usual
goldfinches, chickadees, house finches and juncos and then, poof; no one.
I looked around and a Red-breasted Nuthatch was frozen on our big feeder not
moving. Knew there had to be a accipiter somewhere nearby. Just then
