Greetings All
On Sunday, I saw a pallid gull that superficially resembled the gull
photographed by David. It sounds like the bird some others have seen, being
smaller and longer winged than nearby Herring Gulls and is undoubtedly a
Thayer's.
The bird photographed by David looks to me to be a
Seen around 830. Pale eyes, very pale gray and white wing tips, very limited

Hi COBirders,
There are about 25 Bohemian Waxwings hanging out with a group of Cedar
Waxwings in the Long Pond neighborhood, Larimer County. This morning they
were on Hillside Dr. at Belmont Dr. Here is a link to a map showing the

Greetings -
I saw Nick Komar today, checking out redpolls at the Discovery Center
Museum in Fort Collins. I mentioned to him that I am doing a big green
year and he encouraged me to tell others about it. Mine will be a low key
effort, nothing to match the BIGBY that Christian Nunes did in
Hi Everyone--
This morning 1/26, I went over to Teller Lake #5 and ran into the CFO crowd
looking at gulls. We saw lots of Herring and Thayer's Gulls, at least 4
Lesser Black-backed Gulls, a few Ring-billed Gulls, and that amazing adult
Iceland Gull. I drove over to Boulder Creek at 75th, where I
The ABAblog on redpolls that Ted Floyd cited the other day goes
into amazing depthsfor a casual bird watcher who might sink in the esoteric

We learned something last week about feeder placement. We visited Pat Brodbent
who had dozens of redpolls coming into his Nyger feeders (6 of them), whereas

The first bird with the white rump facing away is the same bird photographed
at the feeder after we watched it fly from down from the tree and land.

Hi Cobirders, My son Bob took my car and I after 10AM to South
Platte to a parking place south of 88th, We started there before
11AM and went downstream on the path
along the river. Not too many ducks at first but as we went further
toward the large green tank they became plentiful, We
I was up cross-country skiing in the vicinity of Breckenridge and
Silverthorne recently and now I have a woodpecker question. While I was
going along, I heard a woodpecker on a tree and decided to investigate. I
pulled out my binoculars and saw what looked like a strange Hairy
Woodpecker. This
Birders,
Today we led the DFO field trip to Pueblo Lake State Park.
I was unaware that hunting is allowed in the state park only a hundred yards
from the south marina. This clearly accounted for the poor numbers of water
birds.
