During the past several days I have heard the Gray Catbird fledgling giving
it's begging calls repeatedly but when I first heard it I thought it was an
American Robin or another bird. However I finally watched the fledgling
as it gave the calls and I decided to record it as there were only about

The bird was still active as of 2pm this afternoon at Bosque NWR, and was seen
by Jeannie Mitchell, Liz Miller, and me (at least for a Colorado contingent!).
Plus many others coming back from lunch in town. (If you go, don't miss the
green-chile cheeseburgers in San Antonio!)

Last week, with wife and out of town birders, I went to Zapata Falls (no
fee, ~12 miles south of Great Sand Dunes) to look for Black Swifts.
These birds were easily seen from the parking area where the trail leads to
the falls from sunset until dark. Mostly focusing on the area above the
falls,
Paula Hansley just phoned and asked me to post that she is watching a singing
blue-winged warbler in Como, Park County, just off 285 in South Park. The
warbler is by a pink house.
