RMBO fall migration bird banding at
Chico Basin Ranch commenced on Thursday, September 5th. In three days, we

I birded with the Durango Bird Club group today at Chico Basin Ranch.
The highlights follow:
Pueblo County side:
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 1 photographed at Rose Pond
Townsend's Warbler - 1 male at Rose Pond
Northern Waterthrush - 1 at Rose Pond (thanks to David Chartier)
Ovenbird - 1 at

Christian Nunes and I woke early this morning, well, early-ish, and spent
some time along Old St. Vrain Road in Lyons. The riparian area along the
river was fairly birdy, with highlights including Indigo Bunting,
Chestnut-sided Warbler and Plumbeous Vireo.
We then switched into
Yesterday I birded around Barr Lake (actually forgot about the birding
festival) and things started out pretty slow.
However at around 9:30 AM (near the white colored house) in the ditch I pished
and a bird popped up that I was unfamiliar with, but my impression was that it
wqs a Swainson's
Sorry I am not very good with directions (nor sense of direction). If you are
headed from the visitors center toward the gazebo there is a white colored
house that will be on your left across the ditch (almost across from the first
short trail that takes you to a blind). It was at the corner
