Two White-winged Scoters flying by from North Picnic Road heading east. Not
sure if they landed or not. 9 Common and 1 Pacific Loon from this location as

Hi Cobirders October means Eight Month . I know it is the tenth
month. Do not blame me, blame the Roman Senate (2000 years ago) honored
the two Caesers Julius and Augustus creating months in the summer
each with an extra day taken from February thus July and August.

These may very well be the Chatfield birds as they were not re-findable
shortly after my post to Cobirds. There is still at least one Red-necked
Grebe at Chatfield.

The two Pueblo Reservoir White-winged Scoters did land on the water, not far
off North Picnic Road loop, looking east, both female/immature birds. An adult
Bald Eagle flew by as well.

Hi All,
Stopped by the feeders at the Red Rocks Trading Post around noon threw out
some seed. Felt just like home as the Golden-crowned Sparrow popped into view
briefly and the House Finch with the white dollop on her crown came into feed.

The Black Scoter continues at City Park, sleeping placidly this afternoon
on Ferril Lake. As far as I know, the Surf Scoter has not been seen for
several days.
Lots of new arrivals around, including Western Grebe, two Horned Grebe, two
male Hooded Mergansers and hundreds of
Reporting on birds you DON'T see is a lot harder than talking about the ones
you do see.
Douglas County: Castlewood Canyon State Park seems almost devoid of small birds
-- we've hiked several trails on the west side, several times in the last 3
weeks and seen almost none to no chickadees,

The Brant was still present at Houts Lake with it's 3 companions this a m.
They were in the water and acting very skittish.

Hi all,
Today around 4pm I saw 1, ad. basic, Mew Gull from the west fence area of
Marston Reservoir, off of Old S. Wadsworth Blvd, Denver County.
The bird was in the water with gobs of Ring-billed Gulls sitting around it,
which made the ID a lot easier. The Mew Gull's mantle was noticeably
COBirds,
Day off and decided to explore Larimer Co north of Ft Collins this
afternoon exploring various small lakes and open land. Main goal being the
3 Tundra Swans Leatherman reported yesterday, which I did not manage to
find - not surprising given they departed during his observation and
