Hello Cobirders,
We've had 1-2 Steller's jays in our yard daily since Nov. 1. Today there
were 3, possibly more, mobbing the resident Cooper's Hawk, along with
blue jays and black-billed magpies. We're about 5 miles east of their
usual haunts in the foothills. This is the first time we've

The dark coloration of the Houts Res bird was more extensive than should be
seen on any Atlantic Brant, at least in the USA/Canada wintering grounds.
Additionally, on close inspection (see my google site) the Houts Lake bird has
a complete necklace, which should not be present
We have also had 2-3 Steller's jays in our yard, starting October 29th, and
almost every day since. We live in Northwest Fort Collins about a mile
from the foothills. This is the first year we have had them at our
feeders.
This afternoon, I watched a dipper feed in the river below the bridge
This morning (12/18) an adult GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was grazing with
Canadas and Cacklings in a field at West Mineral Ave x Platte Canyon
Parkway in Littleton.
Yesterday (12/17) a SAY'S PHOEBE was on the downstream side of the
Chatfield Dam, near the South Platte. Perhaps it was the same
