I found a Sage Thrasher which is fairly uncommon for the Canon City area in
some 4-winged Saltbrush/cholla cactus habitat on the north side of town
where I often find our resident Curve-billed Thrashers. I watched the Sage
Thrasher perch on top of the shrub and flick it's wings while it got a

Beautiful weather but pretty much no birds for our last day. By 10:30 we
had banded 3 birds and recaptured 3 others. The 3 new included 2
unlikelies for the last day of the banding season - a Warbling Vireo

This morning, I had a White-throated Sparrow(tan morph) show up in the
backyard pre-front. He has been here all day eating underneath the niger in
suburban Lakewood. This year it looks like we have an irruption of Pine
Siskens and Red-breasted Nuthatches along the Front Range.

At least 1 White-throated Sparrow on the Colorado State U. campus in Ft.
Collins today. I saw one and may have heard at least one more. The
White-throat was part of a flock that was in the grove of trees located
behind the Natural Resources building. I was talking the
