Cobirders,
Let me go one step further than Ted did. Please “be respectful of both the
birds' and the homeowners' rights. Watch from a distance, don't be loud, park
safely and legally, etc.”
But even better, if your Rosy Finch destination is “Lower” Ward, consider a

Went to Denver West today, but didn't find Palm Warbler or Waxwings. Lots
of Bushtits though, and a very nice Hooded Merganser.
Thanks to the fellow birders who helped look for my lost car key...while I
didn't find the Palm Warbler, I did eventually find the key in the mud and
leaves. Very nice
Hello, Birders.
I wasn't going to post about the great swirling masses of rosy-finches that
Graham Etherington and I saw this windy Saturday morning, Jan. 17, in
Allenspark and Ward, Boulder County...but then I felt this terrible poking
sensation in my eyes...hadn't felt that way since Joe Roll
Birded around Pueblo and the reservoir today. There were many gulls and ducks
at the ice edge at Fisherman Point. Most notable there was at least one
greater scaup . The great black-backed gull was at the South Marina tires
along with two lesser black-backed gulls. Goodnight Trail had a swam
The pair of Barrow's Goldeneye were present on Watson Lake in Bellvue from
230-330pm today until a Bald Eagle excited the masses. Got poor but
identifiable photos. Anyone looking for these birds should be aware that I saw
many Goldeneye on the Poudre River upstream from the "dam". They were o
There was fairly constant traffic between 11-12 today as many were able to view
the American Woodcock at Bobcat Ridge Natural Area near Masonville in Larimer
County. It was very cooperative. Many thanks to the Ranger & neighbors for
their patience & hospitality!

Birders,
On our monthly bird walk today we had more than 50 Bald Eagles at Barr
Lake. Thousands of white-cheeked geese and a few Snows and Ross's.
The dark morph Rough-legged Hawk is still there and there was a Sharpie
raiding the bird feeders.

Chuck,
Thanks for your report and for making contact with the friendly,
bird-loving Como-ite. Or is it Como-er???
I have enjoyed the Rosy flock there in past winters and next time I go, I
plan to take a bag of the same kind
of seed she has been using to defray the cost of her generous smorgasbord.
Following David's post earlier this week, I also visited Park County Friday
looking for rosy-finches. At Jefferson, the feeders were empty and had no
rosies. At Fairplay,I arrived in time to see three small flocks (about 25
birds each) of rosy-finches fly off. One Black Rosy-Finch returned briefly,

This afternoon (4:15-50pm) I found a MEW GULL at South Platte Reservoir
(Arapahoe). This very well may have been the same bird that Suddjian found
there on 1/9, but, given the size of the gull flocks moving about recently,
it could very possibly be a different individual. Regardless, there are
