Sharing raptor report (1/24) from Ranny C/Greeley who took his visiting son
from Atlanta/GA out on Raptor Alley over weekend. Total of 27 birds for
them.
- American Kestrel - 8
- Rough-legged Hawk - 3
- Red-tailed Hawk - 4
- Ferruginous Hawk - 3
- Northern Harrier - 4
Several people saw the eagles mating on the top of the cliff at Watson Lake
last week.

road in front of the ranger's house for the American Woodcock. Up and down

in Lamar. This is the first time the bird has been here for a couple of
weeks and has never been here in nice weather as we had today.

The pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes first reported earlier this year by Josh
Bruening at Watson Lake, between Laporte and Bellvue (Larimer) was still
present this morning at 11am. Dave Steingraeber and I also saw one Golden
Eagle fly across the lake (scaring all the geese) and over the escarpment
There are a lot of places in the Canon City area that the wigeon could go.
Centennial Park, Sells Pond, anywhere along the river, among other places.
Hopefully someone will find out other places it goes. It was at Valco Pond in
Canon City until at least 930am yesterday.
