I spotted a Harlan's Red-tailed Hawk from the MacKenzie Ave end of the
Canon City Riverwalk over the week-end. I got two pics which show it's
white lorals and cheeks,
whitish chest, whitish underside of tail with otherwise blackish feathering
that I have uploaded to my Birds and Nature blog

Southwest of Lake Ladora; not quite as far south as E 64th/Wildlife Drive,
but just north of there. If you take the Ladora Loop trail north of the
road (opposite the woodland trail), you follow it around to where it is
going east and then turns north. At that corner is
This morning at Chafield Res. there were 4 *Common Loons* together near the
Douglas shoreline on the water between the Old Heronry Overlook and the
line of buoys, plus one north of the Marina sand spit, and one more close
to the dam tower. 6 Total.

their website is open to post dates for Christmas Bird Counts. As usual the
dates are from Monday, 14 Dec to Tuesday, 5 January.
So, the weekends, when many counts will be held this year would be Saturday,
