The BROWN PELICAN found and first reported on CFO Facebook by Jill White-Smith
was still present at Lake Hasty this afternoon (4/14). Several folks saw the
bird right below the John Martin Reservoir dam with a large group of White
Pelicans. This area is between the southwest corner of Lake
Thought I heard COPO last night but confirmed tonight. Belting it out. Also
Say's phoebes, broad-tailed hummers and American goldfinches are new arrivals.

Don't know if this is worthwhile or not, but I've had 2 Lincoln's Sparrows off
and mostly on all of today feeding on the ground where I throw seed under a
dogwood bush. It's been a while since I've had them around here -- actually
since the 2013 flood on the Big Thompson. They are

Stephany McNew and I went looking for some birds in eastern Pueblo County and
in Otero County this morning.
Near Boone, Pueblo County, we saw a Mountain Plover and Vesper Sparrow.
At Lake Holbrook, Otero County, we saw the adult Little Blue Heron, plus
shorebirds: Snowy Plovers, Semipalmated
Two Kildeer were flying and calling around Blue Mountain Elementary School
in west Longmont this morning. The cute little crybabies have returned!
They usually nest somewhere around the school, sometimes right on the
soccer field or close by.

I have two feeders in my yard full of sunflower seeds. When I first put the
feeders out, I was filling the feeders every other day. In December I
bought a new bag of feed and since then the birds just aren't real
interested. Is it possible the feed is bad?

Went up yesterday to see the beautiful Prothonotary. Thanks to the one who

I then headed ENE and as I drove by Black Hollow saw a lovely Bald Eagle nest
with eaglets. Norma’s Grove on CR100/57 had Starlings, Mourning Doves,
