In a quick day trip to North Park, we found numerous rough-legged hawks have
arrived. At Lake Walden, a surf scoter was present. A nice surprise was a big
formation of sandhill cranes (105) high in the sky heading south. Tom Litteral,

I went for a walk earlier this afternoon and while looking for a white-fronted
goose, a lone goose got up off the water, was calling up a storm and flew a
couple circles overhead. It was a white-fronted! I can only wonder if it's the
same bird that spent last winter here. The bird was right by

I looked at many large water bodies in Boulder County this morning. Best
birds were 14 Snow Geese at the east end of Dodd Res, which is east of
Niwot, and Pacific Loon and 2 Bonaparte's Gulls at Boulder Res.
I looked through probably 5000 Cackling Geese at Dodd, Six-Mile and
Baseline Res,
Red-necked Grebe north of lake loop.
