We experienced a chilly but productive count yesterday. I don't have reports
from all areas or all feeders, but our preliminary species count has gone to 94
-- equal to the highest number for the 30 years of the count.
We have at least three new birds for the count:
Black Phoebe
Coincidentally and FYI, minutes before your post, someone on the WYObirds
Facebook page posted of seeing this morning a flock of 4K to 5K Bohemian
waxwings flying through in the Alta, WY area, on the Idaho border near
Grand Teton National Park.

The Black Phoebe was still present at approx. 3:30 yesterday afternoon,
same location on the South Platte. Incidentally - this is an excellent
waterfowl and gull viewing location. Between the wastewater ponds about
0.25-0.5 mile further northward along the trail and the outfall with
warmer,
I just saw a fairly large flock (~50) of. Bohemian Waxwings in Walden, Jackson
County at the intersection of Hwy. 14 & Main St. Photos later.
