At least on cobirds people including me would say where exactly they saw a
given species-for instance Rabbit Mountain is a rather large area so nice pics
of a Blue Grosbeak are great but where were these pics taken on Rabbit
Mountain? Some of us or maybe just me who are still working don’t have
On 6-13-20 I birded parts of both counties noted above-best birds were a
Mississippi Kite just northeast of town of Sedgwick and a photogenic Upland
sandpiper on a fencepost between Nunn and Sedgwick. Also Bell’s vireo in western
section of Tamarack but no Cardinals at usual spots in eastern
After a long search I saw two Mountain Plovers 1.9 miles west of Highway 390 on

I want to say that I hope cobirds doesn’t continue to become a forum for some
“expert” birders to make denigrating comments about other birder’s
identification capabilities. Comments like “Nick’s been wrong before” are
uncalled for in my opinion. I’ve been birding in Colorado since 1986 and
I saw a male and female Barrow’s Goldeneye west along the Platte river from the
parking lot at 88th street and the Platte-just beyond a river-wide “waterfall”
about 30 yards in a group of 6-8 rocks on the south side of the river. Good
Birding. Bill Fink Longmont
