I thank those on COBIRDS who alerted me to the reported Emperor's Goose
sighting by a COBIRDERS member. At least I had the option of driving/not
driving up there to look for the reported bird.

Several birders in the Steamboat Springs area have called/e-mailed to let
me know about large flocks of Bohemian Waxwings. Even up in Steamboat, its
not the norm to have such large numbers of Bohemians -- perhaps it will
also be a good year for them in the Denver-metropolitan area. I
Many thanks to Glenn, Joe, Joey and everyone else who helped get the word
out today. I managed to get good looks from the dam --, but nothing like
Glenn's awesome photos.

with Dee Bolton include Tennessee Warbler, Nashville Warbler, Townsend's
Warbler and Northern Waterthrush.
Of note was a pair of Wood Ducks in prebasic molt in the area behind the County
Maintenance Shop on 1St
The Thayer's Gull was still at Stagecoach Reservoir yesterday (11/20). It was
observed in the inlet canal on the SE side of the Reservoir. Catamount Lake is
freezing very fast -- Stagecoach still has a fair amount of open water.

Just a reminder that the 28th Annual Spring Bird Counts will be this
weekend (see list below). I will be coordinating the Cherry Creek State Park
count on MONDAY May 11. There are no fees or pre-registration requirements
(however, some counts require a State Parks Pass).
