I’ve had a flock at my feeders for about three weeks. I generally report 25 on eBird but there could be twice that. In the fall of 2007 I had up to 150 over a period of a few weeks.

I birdied a bit this morning in the vicinity of Boulder Creek at 75th. Best bird was Yellow-rumped Warbler. Was hoping for Cinnamon Teal reported yesterday, but no luck. The real treat was seeing a mink with a trout, apparently just caught since it was alive and moving. It was

Larry and others have done a great job of paying tribute to Joe, so I can’t add a lot. My experience was that he was so funny and fun to be around. So many of us benefited from his sharing of birding knowledge and humor including many who never met him but read his comments on
Had a couple of Rosy’s briefly this morning. One Gray-crowned and one Brown-capped. Was able to photograph the former, but the latter vanished before I could get a photo. Also had at least 18 Cassin’s Finches and lots of juncos including White-winged and Slate-colored. Unequivocal
Pine Grosbeak and Brown-capped Rosy- finch new yard birds today. Also Cassin’s Finch today. I have had Black and Gray- crowned Rosy’s here before.
About 2 feet of new snow.

I’ve been helping a male Broad-tailed Hummingbird get through this cold snowy day. I first saw him at a feeder at 6:40 this morning and last saw him at 7:40 this evening. I’ve been swapping warm feeders from inside for freezing feeders outside. I’m sorry there will be quite a bit of below
