A quick trip to our cabin in Rosita (Custer Co., 9000 ft) yielded an
interesting array of birds for the short time we were there. I filled the
feeder and within a couple of minutes had pygmy nuthatches, white br.

It may be relatively common for folks in Fremont County and SE
Colorado in general, but I thought I should report the Roadrunner I
saw this afternoon crossing CO-115 approximately 4 mi. N of Penrose.

On my way home from the Widefield Community Center at noon today, I
was treated by the fly-over of a Mississippi Kite. It was about tree-
height and about 50 feet from me and was being chased by several
smaller birds, mostly starlngs. It was my first sighting in this area
since last
At 10:15 this morning, I spotted a Mississippi Kite circling over the
main pond @ FCNC. He was being harassed by perhaps 30 swallows and
red-winged blackbirds. He was in the area for about 10 minutes and
several folks enjoyed the sighting. this is my first sighting there
this year.
