Jared, I’m about a mile west of you and same experience here; I’ve had multiple
tanagers here over the past week working mainly my oranges but they did start
to go after the jelly in my oriole feeder as well (something the few orioles
I’ve had didn’t do) but nothing today; a remarkable fallout
in a Northern
Shoveler. If the white crescent wasn’t present, I’d be more apt to consider th
influence of a cinnamon teal but...Thanks for sharing!

I too spotted cedar waxwings this morning along the S Platte near the Audubon
center as they were getting after the chokecherries and Russian olives along
with the robins. Such a handsome bird!!

So at first glance I thought this was a fine specimen of an ultra rare blue
phased Ross Goose but after further mulling am wondering if this is actually a
Ross/Cackling Canada goose hybrid...Would love to hear other takes on this bird.

e features quite a long tail,
it bends upward as a mallard drakes tail feathers do although not the whole way
around. Just my thoughts. I've never seen such a hybrid, thank you for posting!!

Thanks for the post, Eric. I'm going to head out there tomorrow morning for
a Highline Canal run/WEVI-watching session and will confirm if I'm able to
locate him.
