Boyd Lake:
Near the north end of the Park we saw a Nothern Goshawk. It lit on a tree
branch facing us about 20 feet away and sat there for about 5 minutes. No
mistaken a Goshawk - very long red tail, verti cal bars on breast , hawk
sized, and bared tail.

A quic k trip to Boyd Lake this morning we saw 2 Bullocks Orioles- broad white
patch on the male. . Observed also 5 White Pelicans, a Meadow Lark, some
Canadian Geese, Great Blue Heron and 6 Western Grebes.

Boyd Lake State Park:
Killdeer in abundance - high percentage young of the year.
2 Horned Grebes and one Gadwall Duck.
Western Grebes feeding their Grebelings. A New Word? I could be tossed
out of the Bird Watchers World for that!

We visited Boyd Lake State Park on Sept. l and did not see much migration
activitie there so far. however today gave a lttle increase in some areas -
Red-winged Blackbirds and Grackles are forming in large flocks. I showed one
