I spent Friday at Red Rocks and Dinosaur Ridge. It was a great day for birding
after the snowstorm. At the Red Rocks Trading Post feeder, I did see the
Rosy-Finch as described by Mr. Art Hudak in his post. I think I came a little
bit later than he did. I wish I could tell you
A sure sign of spring. A cinnamon teal is present at Walden Boulder today.

Greetings All
Today at Cottonwood Marsh, the Tundra Swan remained in place and showing
nicely. There was also a very obvious female Greater Scaup, the only scaup
present amongst goodly numbers of RN Ducks, Redheads, and Canvasbacks. Finally,
a male Cinnamon Teal in his finest nuptial plumage
Today I led a group of 11 from the Boulder Bird Club to various mountain
feeders in western Boulder County. We started on a tip to look for a wren
species in lower Lefthand Canyon. We failed in that pursuit, but did get a
glimpse of a Golden-crowned Kinglet and had a Golden Eagle soaring over

on the west side of the

While out traveling the windy roads of Boulder county today, my wife and I were
at the intersection of Highway 52 and County Line road heading west (into the
wind). I asked my wife while we were still in Weld County if she could
identify the raptors (2) flying over the intersection
Today at about 2:00 this afternoon I had a White-winged Dove near Cattail
Pond in southwest Loveland. It was at a house just west of the pond right
near Melissa Dr. It flew up from the backyard to a wire with a good look at
the rounded tail with white corners and white patches on wings.

Hi Everyone--
I wandered a bit around Boulder, Weld, and Larimer Counties today 2/25. My
most interesting bird was an adult dark-morph Harlan's Red-tailed Hawk along
Niwot Road just west of US 287. As I passed by, it flew off its utility pole
to the ground and tussled with an unseen victim.
