I made a quick stop at Barr Lake yesterday around midday to see if there were
any gulls around. I only birded the northwest corner or right near the RMBO
office. There were probably 2 to 3 thousand gulls flying around the reservoir
but there was still a small strip of ice in the NW

I saw two American Dippers in Clear Creek (Adams Cty) this afternoon, east
of Lowell Blvd. One was just downstream of the Lowell Blvd. bridge. The
second was east of the bridge carrying the bike path across the creek.

Lisa Edwards and I saw a female Long-tailed Duck, diving a lot on the west side
of Lake Minnequa in Pueblo mid-day today. We saw it from the usual parking lot
off Lake Ave. The Tundra Swan continues as well. Didn't see the White-winged

Not much out there these days ... Woods Lake being the best bet yesterday.
Almost all lakes had lots of ice, geese, mallards, and ring-billeds.

Ice status: Crom Lake - 100% open; Drake Lake - 25%
After enjoying Monte Vista NWR’s Sandhill Cranes today (300-400), I saw a very
early flock of Lark Sparrows that are pushing the envelope this early, west of
Colo. 15 on farm road RG 2.9 that goes to Rock Creek. Gorgeous warm day.Watch
out for one mud hole on that road. Much later in the spring
