Early birds on this nicely damp and overcast May day were a single Western
Tanager, and 4 Bullock's Orioles on Sawhills southwest corner, lots of
Yellow rumped warblers, one Orange crowned warbler and 2 Snowy Egrets on

Hi All,
Yesterday afternoon I had a probable Short-billed Dowitcher at Marston
Reservoir (Denver County). The bird was feeding with a group of Long-billed
Dowitchers in the pond visible from the grassy berm at the West End. The
eBird checklist (including photos and analysis) can be found here:
Yesterday afternoon and this morning I birded some of the parks around Jeffco.
Here are some of the migrants seen:
Welchester Tree Park 5/6
16 Orange-crowned Warblers

About a dozen eager but ultimately crushed birders searched the entire west
side of the park, including the
large fields from the west entrance station to south of the Model Airplane
Field, with special
attention to the Lake Loop.
One birder whose name I regret not catching saw it due west of the
Birders,
My long-time friends Lance and Norma Verhoeff report that a Hudsonian Godwit
persists on their farm through May 7th, and was a lifer for at least one
observer today due to Janeal Thompson's report yesterday. This was the
fourth consecutive day it has been in flooded fields near Bent
