Stopped by Big Johnson Reservoir early this morning. Managed to see two
Long-tailed Ducks. Beautiful! Easily seen by myself and two others from
the parking area near the iron gate. They both were in the NE corner of
the Reservoir. No Loon found.

This morning, March 5, besides Sandhill Cranes at full tilt, the refuge had
about two dozen separate species of ducks and geese, including Snow Goose – all
being our expected species, nothing rare. Isolated early birds included one
each of snipe (seen on south side of auto tour route),

My daily visits to Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs finally paid
off with a sighting (distant photos) of four White-throated Swifts high over
north and south gateway rocks. I didn't see them until 4:55 p.m. Early, but
not the earliest I have seen this species during
Hi a few birding notes of late are, last week we had a flock of Mountain
Blue birds at Reservoir Ridge Natural area and just outside of my office
window in old Town I had a Yellow-rumped Warbler. Today at Lee Martinez
park Maya and I had some Bushtits, an uncommon species for this park we
