Red Crossbill’s breeding season as beginning around March 15 and continuing
into October. Arkansas Valley Audubon’s newly revised Wet Mountain Valley
checklist shows this species as “uncommon” the year around.

I birded around Weld County Saturday and Sunday. Most water is now open,
Weld CR 40, 48 have lots of nice flooded fields (both sides) for spring.
Galeton's Weld CR 61/74 ponds are full and the shorebird habitat on north

During my travels (and I can’t remember the airport) I’ve actually seen and
interesting “trapping tent” set up with food, water and greenery into which the

Windsor Lake (Fort Collins, Larimer) continues to attract great gulls. This
evening (now), I am seeing one each of Great Black-backed (adult), Glaucous
(immature), Franklin’s (adult), small numbers of Iceland and California, and
lots of Herring, Ring-billed.
