More easily heard than seen, a Carolina Wren continued to sing this
morning(830-9AM) at the small Riparian Park in Colorado City, SW Pueblo County.
The Wren has been present since 3-19-11.
The Riparian Park(indicated with a sign) is located on the west side of
Colorado Blvd. just south of

We finally made it over to Red Rocks Park. In spite of the high wind, we did
see the Curve billed Thrasher and sparrows: Golden crowned, Harris's and White
throated. At least one of each pair of Peregrine and Prairie Falcons were also
found.

I thought the SE winds might bring a few more migrants. Hmm. Not so much. I
watched from 9:45-12:15 today, with only a few sightings, but a couple of good
ones.
Red-tailed Hawk (4 locals)
Prairie Falcon (I local)
Golden Eagle 1 (local? - have only seen GOEA on two occasions,
spotted a ferruginous hawk at Chautauqua on the Mesa Trail near the
Ranger Cottage, top of a ponderosa pine. about 11:30 am Wed Mar 23.
It was hunting and I think got a rodent.

Hello all,
As Scott Rashid posted, he was kind enough to take me to see a pair of
Northern Pygmy-Owls near Estes Park on Monday night, and I made several
sound recordings. Amazingly, this is one of only a handful of recordings of
the primary song of Northern Pygmy-Owls from the entire southern

Hi all,
Found a Northern Pygmy-Owl calling in RMNP tonight. The lone male called from
7:30pm till 7:34pm then moved east and called until 7:40pm. I timed the toots
and they were 1 second apart.
When I got home there was a Northern Saw-whet Owl calling just south of my
house.

This afternoon, on Cottonwood Marsh at Walden Ponds, I saw the hybrid
Green-winged Teal which has been noted by Cara Stiles and Cole Wild.
It was consistently on the far north side of the pond.
It appears and behaves like a hybrid with a wigeon. All the
characteristics such as of the black rump
