Friday afternoon, I spotted 2 Turkey Vultures circling over the southwest
section of the Golden Ponds path in Longmont (Boulder County).
Yesterday, I hiked with friends up to the quartz quarry in Pike National

Hi All,
While birding at the Teller Farm pond at 12:15PM I noticed a Tree Swallow
flying near the surface of the water to the back of the pond. The Tree
Swallow was there the entire time I birded the area. This is the earliest
I've seen one in the state.

I did about an hour of birding this morning before heading to other
commitments. Near Brush Hollow I had a flock of at least 47 PINYON JAYs. Then
a quick look at Florence River Park to see if there might be any CINNAMON TEAL
and there was a single male. Then just west of the park
This morning an unexpected early *Turkey Vulture *tilted its way eastward
over St. Mary Church along S.Prince Street in Littleton. This was a few
hours before the snow began, and perhaps now it is thinking, What am I
doing here in February!

While counting birds day before yesterday for the Great Backyard Bird Count
in Florence River Park I spotted the Black Phoebe that I have seen and
posted about at that location this winter. It put on a nice show, calling
frequently as it foraged on a number of flying insects on that warm (almost
