I went out to the DIA Owl Loop area yesterday (6/17/2012) looking for
Burrowing Owls. Even though I went out during the hot afternoon, I was able
to find one at the usual 3.4 mi east of 96th and Tower location, sitting on
a fencepost. A little disappointing, but so it goes.
Much better viewing
Two burrowing owls seen on Monday morning at about 8:00am, 3.1 to 3.3
miles east of 96th and Tower Rd near Denver International Airport. The
road goes east, then north, so it's on the north stretch. The owls
were on the west side of the road. They hopped into their burrows
before I could get a
Cobirds:
The Walks With Nature group went out to Adams and Denver
County today (July 4th) and saw at least 42 burrowing owls. Both
adults and juveniles were seen. Main concentrations were along
Picadilly Road south of road 128; Along road 114 north of DIA; And
off several sides
